Cooking is my passion.. I love cooking and exploring new culinary skills.. I try new recipes every now and then and the thought of food makes me happy and I’m a huge foodie. But my cooking is just not limited to this.. Being a wifey  I need to cook day in and day out; cook 3 meals a day for myself and hubby and with added advantage of being the mom of a fussy toddler it’s an additional 4 to 5 meals . So in all I cook or push out on an average of anywhere between 5 to 6 dishes any given day. Do it enjoy doing it.. NAAAAAHHHHHH.. but dint I say cooking is my passion.. don’t I suppose to love toiling in the kitchen. This I believe is the fundamental mistake that most of us do..

In the current trend, we believe passion is the only factor that drives everyone towards a happy and fulfilling living. Agree that passion does play a huge part.. but its not end of the world if you don’t have a passion or don’t know what your passion is. Most important discovery of yourself should be ‘what makes you happy and content’.. it could be as simple as spending time with family to something as complicated as modern art. Passion need not necessarily yield you money.. People are crazy behind this funda that your carrier should be based on your passion. If this happens you are extremely lucky to work and earn by doing something that you love to do. If it doesn’t – no big deal -cause it clearly indicates that you have higher priorities and commitments, which hasn’t enabled you to chase your passion or you simply don’t know your passion. Both these scenarios are absolutely normal.

I have known people who have this fire under their bellies to do or achieve something.. which is awesome.. inspiring.. they go about becoming an entrepreneur , become successful, become rich, become their own boss.. and end up becoming too busy and worn out that they cant spend time with family or for themselves.and worked up.. this prototype would fit someone who is ready to go that extra mile ..Sacrifice their personal space and time and devote it towards their passion.. this prototype would not fit people who are messed up with their current job and want to start up something to escape from all the pressure driven work environment. They would only land up spending more effort and time along with money than their 9-5 job.

So its very important to prioritize and understand what makes you happy and which is more important considering the current space you are in. Just stay grounded and enjoy the simple pleasures of life rather than running behind illusions.

These last words by Steve Jobs is worth thinking about:

I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success. However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god of death drawing closer…

Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth…Should be something that is more important:Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days

Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth. The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me. What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.

That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.

What is the most expensive bed in the world? Sick bed…
You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – Life. When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – Book of Healthy Life. Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.
